Celebrating National Reconciliation Week 2024: Now More Than Ever
Here at e-volve and throughout the country each year, from May 27 to June 3, Australians come together to observe National Reconciliation Week (NRW). These dates are significant, marking two important events in our nation's reconciliation journey—the successful 1967 referendum and the historic 1992 High Court Mabo decision. As we commemorate these milestones, we are reminded that reconciliation is a collective journey that must be carried in the hearts, minds, and actions of all Australians.
The theme for National Reconciliation Week 2024, Now More Than Ever, serves as a powerful reminder to all of us here at e-volve that the fight for justice and the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples must continue unabated. No matter the challenges, our commitment to reconciliation must remain steadfast.
The Significance of National Reconciliation Week
Reconciliation is more than a symbolic gesture, and it is our commitment to fostering respectful relationships between the wider Australian community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. It is about acknowledging the rich histories, cultures, and contributions of Indigenous Australians and ensuring their rightful place in the story of our nation.
“National Reconciliation Week is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.” David Simpson, CEO, e-volve.
As we move forward, every Australian has a role to play in building a future where all communities thrive in unity and respect.
Join our Journey
We invite all our staff, clients, partners, stakeholders, and our community, in general, to unite with us in our resolve, by enriching their cultural proficiency and gaining knowledge on the implication of repatriation for reconciliation.
