April is Diversity Month
Diversity Month has chosen April as its elected representative, a four-week season where we can acknowledge and honour the unique weaving of our cultures, histories, and bountiful heritage, that eventually make us who we are.
Now in a virtual society, we need more than ever before, to show appreciation for the diversity amongst us. When life gives us a lemon, we tend to want to make lemonade with those we know and are familiar with, often forgetting to reach out to those who contradict who we are. We act on our fears, our unwitting prejudice, and what we see and hear in the media.
e-volve has chosen to put our pledge to diversity and inclusion first. Our team is multi-ethnic, part of numerous cultures, and immersed in a hot-pot of principles and faiths. Together we offer meaningful relationships and a world of possibility, where all people are embraced, not just a select few.
By just being who we really are, completely transparent, we can value each other far more, and gain a deeper understanding of our differences. As we embrace Diversity month, we will be sharing throughout the next few days, the culture and heritage of staff members on social media posts. Staff members will be requested to share anecdotes from their own cultures and heritage during their next staff meeting, coffee chat, and happy hour.
